Verri gives you the confidence to enjoy your night out. In just 3 steps and 3 minutes, you can check your drink for the most common spike substances.
Dab on the strip
Remove a strip from the pack. Using a straw or finger, dab a small amount of your drink directly onto the test spots on the strip or wristband.
Wait 3 minutes
Set it down and give it time. The strip's reagents need a full 3 minutes to react — don't read the result early.
Check for colour change
A colour change indicates GHB, Ketamine or Rohypnol has been detected at our limit of detection levels in your drink.
The Science
Why the strip changes colour
Verri strips use a colorimetric reagent reaction — a chemical compound on the strip that changes colour when it comes into contact with specific drug molecules above a detectable threshold.
Reagent-based detection
Each strip is coated with a specially formulated reagent that binds to target drug molecules. When the bind occurs above the detection threshold, a visible colour change appears — giving you a read-at-a-glance result.
Threshold sensitivity
The strip detects substances at the these concentrations;
- Gamma-hydroxybutyrate (GHB): 12 mg/ml (which is equivalent to 3.0g per 250ml drink).
- Ketamine (KET): 4 mg/ml (which is equivalent to 1.0g per 250ml drink).
- Flunitrazepam (FLZ / Rohypnol): 0.25 mg/ml (which is equivalent to 0.0625g per 250ml drink).
A negative result (no colour change) indicates the substance is either absent or below the detectable threshold in the sample tested.
Single-use design
Our packaging is designed to keep the test sealed to protect the reagent from moisture and contamination. Once exposed to liquid, the reaction is complete — use a fresh strip for each test.

What Verri Detects
The three most common spike substances
Verri is formulated to detect the drugs most frequently used in drink spiking incidents in Australia and worldwide.
GHB
Also known as: Liquid Ecstasy, G, Fantasy
A colourless, odourless liquid that causes sedation and memory loss. Extremely difficult to detect by taste alone.
Ketamine
Also known as: Special K, Ket, Vitamin K
A dissociative anaesthetic. At low doses causes disorientation and loss of motor control — often dissolved in drinks.
Rohypnol
Also known as: Roofies, Forget-Me Pill, Flunitrazepam
A powerful benzodiazepine sedative. Causes heavy sedation, muscle relaxation and anterograde amnesia.
Reading your result
After 3 minutes, compare the strip to the colour guide included in your kit.
Colour change detected
Do not drink. A colour change indicates one or more target substances has been detected above a detection level. Trust the result — discard the drink immediately.
No colour change
No GHB, Ketamine or Rohypnol was detected above the threshold in the sample tested. The strip does not test for all possible substances — stay alert and trust your instincts.
Important to know
What the strip doesn't cover
Verri is a powerful tool — but no single test covers everything. Here's what to keep in mind:
- Verri detects GHB, Ketamine and Rohypnol only. It does not screen for other substances such as MDMA, other benzodiazepines, alcohol or prescription drugs.
- A negative result means no target substance was detected above the threshold in the specific sample tested — it is not a guarantee the entire drink is safe.
- Dilute concentrations may fall below the detection threshold and return a negative result.
- The strip tests a sample of your drink — not the whole glass. Swirl your drink before testing for best accuracy.
- Always trust your instincts. If something feels off — the taste, your symptoms, or the situation — leave and seek help regardless of the test result.
