The game plan

Three steps, zero faff

Works the same on strips and wristbands. Use a fresh one for every drink.

    Take a strip out of the pack. Using a straw or your finger, dab a little of your drink onto each of the three spots.

    Wait 3 minutes

    Set it down and leave it. The spots need the full 3 minutes to react, so don't peek early.

Hard pass. Put. The. Drink. Down. Tell a friend or venue staff, and get help if you feel unwell.

NO COLOUR CHANGE?

Enjoy, and keep trusting your gut. It means none of the three showed up above the minimum amount in the sample you checked.

What Verri screens for

The three culprits

  • FLZ

    ROHYPNOL

    Flunitrazepam. Also called roofies

    A strong sedative. Can cause heavy sedation and memory gaps.

  • GHB

    GHB

    Also called G, liquid ecstasy, fantasy

    Colourless and odourless, so it's very hard to notice by taste. Can cause heavy drowsiness and memory loss.

  • KET

    KETAMINE

    Also called Special K, ket, vitamin K

    An anaesthetic. Even small doses can cause confusion and loss of coordination.

Heads up: alcohol is the drug most often used in drink spiking, and Verri doesn't screen for it. Keep an eye on your drink too.

Why the spots change colour

Each spot holds a colorimetric reagent: a chemical that changes colour when it reacts with its drug.

  • MINIMUM AMOUNTS

    A spot only reacts above a minimum amount of its drug. Smaller amounts may not change the colour.

  • ONE STRIP, ONE DRINK

    Each strip stays sealed until you need it. Once it's wet, the reaction's done, so use a fresh one for every drink.

  • READ IT BY EYE

    No app, scanner or lab. Just you, a strip and 3 minutes, anywhere.

Good to know

What it doesn't cover

No single check covers everything. Here's the honest list.

  • It screens for GHB, ketamine and Rohypnol only. Not MDMA, other benzodiazepines, alcohol or prescription drugs.
  • No colour change means none of the three showed up above the minimum amount in the sample you checked. It doesn't mean the whole drink is free of anything.
  • Small amounts may fall below the minimum and show no colour change.
  • It checks a sample, not the whole glass. Give your drink a swirl first.
  • If something feels off (the taste, how you feel or the vibe), leave and get help, whatever the strip shows.
